Insulation contractor in Pembroke, New Hampshire
Looking for an insulation company near you in Pembroke? We are a family-owned NHSaves® participating contractor with BPI-certified staff, doing attic and wall insulation, air sealing and cold-climate heat pumps across Merrimack County. Most of the insulation work is paid for by your utility's program.
What we see in Pembroke homes
The typical Pembroke home was built between 1950 and 1980, which usually means R-11 fiberglass batts in the walls, a thin layer of batts on the attic floor, no air sealing anywhere, and a rim joist that was never insulated. Ranches, split-levels and garrison colonials from these decades are the bread and butter of our NHSaves work: air seal and top up the attic, foam the rim joist, and the house feels like a different place.
About 64% of owner-occupied homes in Pembroke heat with oil or propane, the most expensive fuels in New England per unit of heat. That is why air sealing and insulation pay back so quickly here, and why a cold-climate heat pump is often the next step: it can carry most of the season at a fraction of the cost of delivered fuel.
Housing figures: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020 to 2024 five-year estimates for Pembroke; heating fuel shares are for owner-occupied homes.
NHSaves rebates in Pembroke
Most of Pembroke is served by Eversource for electricity and Liberty for natural gas. All of them are NHSaves utilities. If you heat with natural gas your Home Energy Performance rebate comes through Liberty; if you heat with anything else it comes through Eversource.
On most Home Energy Performance projects the program pays 100% of air sealing and 75% of insulation, up to $6,000 per home, and your share can go on a 0% or 2% program loan. We assess the house, model it, file with the utility and take the rebate off the invoice. How the program works.
Many Pembroke households also qualify for the program’s income-eligible side. Households at or below 60% of the state median income get the work covered in full through NHSaves Home Energy Assistance, and Eversource customers up to the state median income can get an enhanced no-cost package. Tell us roughly what the household earns and we will point you to the right program; nothing is filed without your say-so.
How much fuel a Pembroke home needs to use to qualify
| Fuel | Utility | Enrollment line | Qualifies outright |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heating oil | Eversource | 608 gallons | 912 gallons |
| Propane | Eversource | 922 gallons | 1,384 gallons |
| Natural gas | Liberty | 1,123 therms | 1,264 therms |
For a 1,800 sq ft home in Pembroke at 7,800 heating degree days (estimated from the nearest weather station). Yearly fuel use at or above the enrollment line gets the utility’s enrollment form; above the higher figure the home qualifies with any utility. A wood or pellet stove counts toward the total. Pre-screen only: the utility’s calculator and the assessment decide.
