Financing your share
| Option | Terms |
|---|---|
| Partner lender loans | $1,000 to $15,000, 2 to 7 years, 0% APR for Eversource customers, 2% for Liberty, Unitil and NH Electric Co-op customers |
| 0% on-bill financing | Up to a per-utility cap: Eversource $2,000, Liberty Electric $2,000, Liberty Gas $4,000, NH Electric Co-op $4,000, Unitil $7,500 |
| How it works | The utility issues the loan authorization before the work; the lender pays at closing. Arranged before the install, not after. |
Heat pumps and mini-splits
Each NHSaves utility publishes its own rebate on qualifying cold-climate heat pumps; amounts differ by utility and equipment and change from year to year, so we quote the current figure for your utility in writing. Start at nhsaves.com and your utility's residential rebate page. We file the application with the install.
Heat pump water heaters and thermostats
NHSaves utilities also rebate ENERGY STAR heat pump water heaters and, for some homes, smart thermostats. Liberty and Unitil customers whose Home Heating Index falls just below the insulation program's line are offered a Wi-Fi thermostat instead. Ask us which applies to you.
Income-eligible programs
- NHSaves Home Energy Assistance: households at or below 60% of the state median income get the weatherization work covered in full.
- Eversource enhanced Home Energy Performance: Eversource customers at or below 100% of the state median income can get an enhanced no-cost package.
Tell us roughly what the household earns and we will point you to the right program; nothing is filed without your say-so.
Federal and state credits
The federal 25C credit for insulation and heat pumps ended on December 31, 2025. Check the New Hampshire Department of Energy for current state and federal offers before planning around one.

NHSaves® is the energy-efficiency program of New Hampshire's electric and natural gas utilities: Eversource, Liberty, Unitil and the New Hampshire Electric Co-op. Program eligibility requirements and restrictions apply. Rebate amounts are set by the utility program, depend on each home's assessment results, and are subject to change or cancellation while funding is available. Granite Hearth Home Performance is an independent contractor and does not sponsor or operate the NHSaves programs.

Questions
Do I have to fill out an NHSaves application myself?
No. For the Home Energy Performance program the participating contractor assesses the house, models it and submits the application to your utility. You review and sign the scope. The only thing you need to provide is your fuel and electric use.
Are there federal tax credits for insulation or heat pumps?
The federal 25C energy-efficiency credit ended on December 31, 2025. As of this writing no replacement federal credit is in effect; check the New Hampshire Department of Energy for any new state or federal program before you plan around one.
Can I combine rebates and financing?
Yes. The rebate comes off the invoice first; the loan covers your share. The loan is approved before the work starts, so tell us early if you want it.
