Insulation contractor in Tamworth, New Hampshire
Looking for an insulation company near you in Tamworth? We are a family-owned NHSaves® participating contractor with BPI-certified staff, doing attic and wall insulation, air sealing and cold-climate heat pumps across Carroll County. Most of the insulation work is paid for by your utility's program.
What we see in Tamworth homes
The typical Tamworth home was built between 1950 and 1980, which usually means R-11 fiberglass batts in the walls, a thin layer of batts on the attic floor, no air sealing anywhere, and a rim joist that was never insulated. Ranches, split-levels and garrison colonials from these decades are the bread and butter of our NHSaves work: air seal and top up the attic, foam the rim joist, and the house feels like a different place.
About 85% of owner-occupied homes in Tamworth heat with oil or propane, the most expensive fuels in New England per unit of heat. That is why air sealing and insulation pay back so quickly here, and why a cold-climate heat pump is often the next step: it can carry most of the season at a fraction of the cost of delivered fuel.
Housing figures: U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2020 to 2024 five-year estimates for Tamworth; heating fuel shares are for owner-occupied homes.
NHSaves rebates in Tamworth
Most of Tamworth is served by Eversource for electricity and none for natural gas. All of them are NHSaves utilities. If you heat with natural gas your Home Energy Performance rebate comes through none; if you heat with anything else it comes through Eversource.
On most Home Energy Performance projects the program pays 100% of air sealing and 75% of insulation, up to $6,000 per home, and your share can go on a 0% or 2% program loan. We assess the house, model it, file with the utility and take the rebate off the invoice. How the program works.
Many Tamworth households also qualify for the program’s income-eligible side. Households at or below 60% of the state median income get the work covered in full through NHSaves Home Energy Assistance, and Eversource customers up to the state median income can get an enhanced no-cost package. Tell us roughly what the household earns and we will point you to the right program; nothing is filed without your say-so.
How much fuel a Tamworth home needs to use to qualify
| Fuel | Utility | Enrollment line | Qualifies outright |
|---|---|---|---|
| Heating oil | Eversource | 650 gallons | 975 gallons |
| Propane | Eversource | 986 gallons | 1,479 gallons |
| Natural gas | none | 900 therms | 1,351 therms |
For a 1,800 sq ft home in Tamworth at 8,337 heating degree days (estimated from the nearest weather station). Yearly fuel use at or above the enrollment line gets the utility’s enrollment form; above the higher figure the home qualifies with any utility. A wood or pellet stove counts toward the total. Pre-screen only: the utility’s calculator and the assessment decide.

Questions from Tamworth homeowners
How much does insulation cost in Tamworth, NH?
It depends on the house, but for a typical Tamworth home the NHSaves program pays 100% of the air sealing and 75% of the insulation, up to $6,000, so most homeowners pay a quarter of the insulation cost and nothing for the air sealing. We give you the exact figure in writing after the assessment, and 0% or 2% financing is available for your share.
Do you serve all of Tamworth?
Yes, every neighborhood in Tamworth (03817, 03875, 03883, 03886, 03890, 03897) and the surrounding towns in Carroll County.
Which utility runs the NHSaves rebate in Tamworth?
Most of Tamworth is served by Eversource for electricity and none for natural gas. All of them are NHSaves utilities. If you heat with natural gas your Home Energy Performance rebate comes through none; if you heat with anything else it comes through Eversource.
Can you install a heat pump in my Tamworth home?
Yes. We install cold-climate ductless mini-splits and ducted heat pumps across Tamworth and Carroll County, sized from a load calculation after the insulation work, with the Eversource heat pump rebate filed for you.
Does a wood stove count toward qualifying in Tamworth?
Yes. The program adds up every fuel the house burns, so the cords or pellet tons you go through in Tamworth winters count alongside oil or propane. Many homes here qualify once the stove is included.
Do you install heat pumps in Tamworth?
Yes. Cold-climate ductless and ducted heat pumps for Tamworth homes, sized after the insulation work so the system is not oversized, with your utility's heat pump rebate filed for you.
